

Well-Laid Plans perfectly supports Silent's desire to put together clever combos of cards, or hold onto defense against big attacks while scaling up poison damage in longer fights. Great with tons of individual cards, too, like Piercing Wail for example. You absolutely do not /need/ to have a Well-Laid Plans to win runs, but it's a simple way to help put together combos in decks which really want to draw (f.x.) Bullet Time + Big Card, or something like that.

Retaining cards has multiple benefits. You can line up cards with enemy actions to optimize their effect, set up combos between multiple cards, or simply benefit from having more total cards in hand.
