Slay the Spire 2 Patch V0.103.0 - Highlights and Key elements

Patch V0.103.0 to Slay the Spire introduced significant changes to leaderboard mechanics, adds new character content, and focused on smoothing out the difficulty spikes in Act 1 and the endgame.

Major System Update: Daily Leaderboards

The scoring system for Daily Runs has been overhauled to provide more clarity.

Leaderboards now show only your friends' scores. Mega Crit has flagged that global scores will be reintroduced as a separate view later. Rankings are now determined by Win Status, Badge Count, and Completion Time, in that order.

Because of these data changes, Main branch and Beta branch leaderboards are now separate.

New Content & Relics

New Neow (Ancient) Relics

Three new powerful relics have been added to the starting pool to increase run variety:

  • Neow's BonesNeow's Bones: Upon pickup, gain 2 random Neow Relics. Add 1 random Curse to your Deck.
  • Phial HolsterPhial Holster: Upon pickup, gain 1 potion slot and procure 2 random potions.
  • Winged BootsWinged Boots: You may ignore paths when choosing the next rooms to travel to 3 times.

Balance Changes

The Ironclad

  • New Card: Not Yet (Rare Skill): Costs 2 Energy. Heal 10(13) HP. Exhaust.
  • Colossus: Rarity decreased from Rare to Uncommon, making the Ironclad's defensive scaling significantly more accessible.
  • Grapple has been removed from the pool.

The Silent

  • Acrobatics: Rarity increased from Common to Uncommon.
  • Follow-Through: Previously Uncommon, Cost 1, dealing 6(8) damage to ALL enemies with 1(2) Weak applied conditionally on playing a Skill last.
    • Now Common, Cost 1, dealing 7(9) damage to a single target, and hits an additional time if you have 5 or more other cards in your Hand. The card has been effectively redesigned from an AoE-with-conditional-Weak payoff into a single-target, hand-size-conditional attack, and the rarity drop to Common significantly widens its availability.
  • Buffs: Memento Mori's base damage increased from 8(10) to 9(11). Speedster's base damage increased from 1(2) to 2, and the upgrade now grants Innate.

Enemies & Bosses

Developers have focused on reducing "spikiness" in Act 1 and making the final encounters more manageable:

  • Doormaker: Nerfed. Overall damage numbers reduced and moves rearranged to better align with his powers. He no longer applies debuffs during the fight and gains less Strength across turns.
  • Byrdonis (Elite): HP reduced from 91(99)-94(99) to 81(90)-84(90), trimming roughly 10 HP at low Ascension and 9 HP at high Ascension.
  • Living Fog: No longer increases the number of bombs spawned over time.
  • Skulking Colony: HP reduced from 74(79) to 70(75).
  • Tunneling Twosome: The Hive encounter has been removed from the pool entirely.

Art & UI Improvements

  • New Portraits: Added for Adaptive Strike, Shadow Shield, Smokestack, Bad Luck, and Outbreak.
  • Additional art updates include a new Nonupeipe Ancient background, new art for the Hefty Tablet and Neow's Talisman relics, and an updated Osty portrait on the character-select screen.
  • UI polish: Run History now includes Badges, your name on the Leaderboards is now highlighted in blue for easier self-location, and the maximum Block cap for players and enemies has been raised to 999,999,999. Negative power amounts are similarly capped at -999,999,999.
  • Clarity: The Spiraling Whirlpool event description has been updated to explicitly state that it can only enchant a basic Strike or Defend card, closing an ambiguity that had affected route planning.
