You want your deck to be better than a deck that needs to take Thunderclap. It is possible that your deck isn't better than a deck that needs to take Thunderclap, though. Thunderclap also gets to enjoy some pretty impressive output when paired with Vicious in multi-enemy fights, which is something to look out for for sure.
