Ironclad Strikes can actually do quite well. They scale off Strength, synergize with some potions and other cards, and in general line up with his need to end fights quickly unless he can find a reliable way to Block.
Ironclad's Strikes are useful all game. They have synergies with other cards and can be Enchanted to be more useful.
