There are a couple of ways in which Skewer can be an exciting card: 1) You can take it to make your Act 1 deck more capable of turning energy into damage, in order to win elite fights before you're overwhelmed. 2) You can take it to take advantage of relics which synergize with it. Chemical X and Akabeko are perhaps the best examples. That said, even in these situations, which are somewhat unusual, it's still only okay. Don't feel bad about skipping this card.
