Iron Wave makes your deck measurably better right at the start of the game. It probably makes your deck measurably worse the rest of the time. There are a few things this card can scale with, but they're mostly outshone by the synergy packages the character has.
All that said: this is an okay common on floor 1 compared to the other cards in your deck, and it might make it into your deck for that reason.
