An upgraded Flame Barrier does incredible work early on in the run, and can even be worth playing later. Flame Barrier isn't a card which scales well with most of Ironclad's card pool, but its output is immense. There are enemies who attack you 8 times in the same turn in this game, and a Flame Barrier+ will deal 48 damage to them if you can line it up appropriately, while also blocking the incoming attack. Ironclad never really wins with a "Flame Barrier" deck; there just aren't enough other effects to support this card for it to win by itself. But I've definitely taken it over strong cards which do go into Ironclad's main synergistic decks because of how strong it is early in the run by itself.
