

Note that Inferno works whenever you lose HP on your turn, not just when the card itself causes you to lose HP. That means it works well with cards like Blood Wall, Hemokinesis, or Offering. A single Inferno and some supporting cards (paired with the understanding you'll have to Rest at Campfires regularly) can provide a huge amount of damage, often enough to cruise through the first half of the game.

Consistent area damage is a nice effect in many fights. The main downside is that there is no effect until next turn unless you have other self-damage cards.
