For the last 8 years the entire Slay the Spire community has been upholding a silent pact to not tell the devs how strong Piercing Wail is so that they won't nerf it. Feel free to win with the card, but avoid doing anything that might get it nerfed to more reasonable numbers. For a better explanation: against enemies with multiple attacks, or in fights with multiple enemies, this is a common which can effectively block for 20+ for 1 energy, which is massively more than commons can usually block for.
