Bludgeon is an okay card without support. Dealing 32 or 42 damage for 3 energy is okay on turns where you're not being attacked. Not great, but okay. Where Bludgeon gets out of control is when it's combined with support, like Stampede or Thrash. There are some other cute things to do with it with f.x. Headbutt + Havoc as well. I don't think Bludgeon is strong enough that you /need/ to take it in many runs, but keep in mind that there are some impressive ways to maximize it if you ever need to.

Excellent early-game power spike, allowing most Act I encounters to be beaten with ease. In the mid- or late-game, Bludgeon is best when discounted or multiplied with effects like Pen Nib or Cruelty + Vulnerable.
