Ramping Max HP gains. Keep in mind that gaining Max HP also gives you equal current HP. In total the options are: Take 1 to gain 2 Max Take 3 to gain 4 Max Take 6 to gain 6 Max Take 10 to gain 8 Max Take 15 to gain 10 Max etc. Or just heal for 10. Worth also noting that Tungsten Rob prevents life loss in events, so if you have Tungsten Rod you'll save 1hp every time you click to take damage. Usually, unless you have a Meat On The Bone or some other strong sustain option, this will just be a heal at high difficulty. At low difficulty there's a little more room in Act 1 to go for some Max HP if you want to.

Trade loads of health to get max hp! Unless you've got big heals headed your way soon, you probably don't want to go down to low HP in Act 1. As a result, you're usually just taking the heal 10 on high difficulty, but if you have some rest sites in the near future then you might want to bathe for a bit.
