One of Defect's issues is that all of its strategies require drawing combinations of cards. Orbs need generators + focus, Status synergies need the generators + payoffs + drawing through the Statuses, and 0-Cost stuff needs to draw lots of 0-Cost stuff. Machine Learning tends to help out most Defect decks quite a lot, and can be a nice upgrade for decks with safe Turn 1's.
