Even without synergies, Oblivion is a passable card. It shines when paired with payoffs for applying Debuffs or Doom, or with ways to spam lots of cards in a turn (like Souls).
A huge payoff for any deck that can spam a lot of cards. Best with lots of Souls to both draw into this as well as activate it. Each card played will activate Shroud and Sleight of Flesh.
