Okay damage, and can be worth picking up for specific multi-enemy fights if they are troubling for your deck, but losing Focus is a huge downside given that Defect's main unique mechanic is Orbs which are likely to be made entirely useless by such a debuff.
This will effectively make all your orbs worthless for the rest of the fight, so use wisely. Most effective when used as a finishing blow to end combat, or you can use it with Plasma which are not penalized by negative Focus.
